Argo Challenge team member Damien Seguin won the 2.4 meter event at the 2011 Rolex Miami Olympic Classes Regatta. The ISAF #1 ranked 2.4 Meter sailor and singlehanded offshore sailor won the first of three races during the final day of sailing in the Paralympic Classes by a comfortable distance and widened the point spread between him and Thierry Schmitter (NED), so that all he had to do was keep the point spread close during the final two races.
Sequin, who was the first to the dock and the first to pull his mast out of the boat and get into dry clothes, called the brisk and sunny day, "Perfect. It is a great way to start the year." This is Seguin's first World Cup event this year and he looks forward to the upcoming Europe an World Cup events in addition to his busy offshore schedule.
As for the Argo Challenge Seguin said, "The Argo Challenge will send a beautiful message. Sailing with Lars Grael will be a great pleasure."
The top able-bodied sailor and North American in the 2.4 Meter Regatta was Canada's Allan Liebel. 2010 2.4 Meter Open World Champion Paul Tingley, also from Canada, was 4th.
