The Argo Challenge is a very special campaign, said Giannini. As a San Franciscan, I am elated that the Americas Cup is taking place in my home town.
Americas Cup and Olympic sailing represent the pinnacle of our sport. Every time I compete in an ISAF Grade 1 or Grade 2 event, Im in the same boatyard at the same sailing venue and sailing in the same wind and sea conditions as the Paralympic sailors. More often than not, Im cold and exhausted when I come in off the water. I can only imagine what it is like for them. Sailing in the North Atlantic, near the North Sea or even in Kiel Germany, is nothing like going for a pleasure cruise in a bay.
People of all ages and ability can enjoy sailing. It is a pastime for some. It is therapy for everyone and as Larry Ellison said, it is a testing ground. The athletes on this team are exemplary. They test their limits at everything they do. They are so inspiring, and I am proud to assist them in inspiring everyone who has any kind of a setback to emulate them.
Giannini is available to work with any and all prospective Argo Challenge sponsors. The international composition of the Argo Challenge and the range of disabilities represented offer technology, bio tech, medical device manufacturing, health care, mental and physical fitness, wellness, materials, nutrition, energy, pharma, government and so many other fields a visible and heartwarming affiliation that I couldnt be more pleased to involved with the Argo Challenge.
